Q: Every time I read a question about Floyd not fighting Antonio Margario or Miguel Cotto there is always somebody that says " Floyd is protected and that he fights bums. If you check Floyd Mayweather's record the guy has fought 15 past or current World Champions. The guy has won title in 4 differnt weight Classes. He has been 5 time world champion. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS SUPPOSED TO DO. PLEASE COMMENT AND CHECK BACK BECASUE I USALLY RESPOND. NO STUPID ANSWER PLEASE KillerB you say if he wants to be Sugar Ray then fight the Durans and Haglars of his era. The thing I want to know is that Duran was a lightweight that moved up to fight Sugar Ray and Ray still gets credit for beating him. Hatton moved up to fight Floyd but Floyd gets no credit for beating hatton. Why Ricky was the linar Jr Welterweight champion but when FLoyd beats him now he's undersized. Considering the fact that Floyd started his Carrer as a Featherweight and naturally Ricky Hatton is bigger and stronger and was undfeated comming off a knockout victory. Sugar Ray fought Marvin Hagler but he waited until John Mugabi took all of the steam out of Marvin 4 years after he could have fought him but choose to retire. Oscar was old true enough but in boxing their is always a passing of the tourch and Oscar beat an Old Chavez and Sweet Pea.Floyd didnt fight Margarito but hell name one guy that did. Shane Mosley didnt fight him either but people dont call Shane a Fruad? He didnt fight JoelCasaymor at 135 but he beat Castillo at 135 twice who beat Joel Casaymor. Eugne everyone you named had a world title when he beat them. Their is no such thing as a washed up bum with a world title. Gatti was a world Champion when Floyd beat him. Baldomir was a world champion when Floyd beat him Oscar was a world champion when Floyd beat him and Oscar came close to winning the fight. But since Floyd Won "oh now Oscar's washed up ? Ricky Hatton is best 140 pound fighter in the world. People always say Ricky Wasnt a welterweight, but your making an excuse for a guy that held the WBA welterweight title. Floyd started his fight as a Featherweight Hatton didnt when they arnt fighting Hatton blows up to 170 or 180 pounds Floyds the Smaller man case closed. Of course he isnt going to fight Hatton at 140 RIcky was challenging for his Title when you he didnt have to come down and shouldnt have had too. Plus he tryed to fight Hatton at 140 and they didnt want the fight. Zab is a world champion even was the undisputed Welterweight Champion. Eugene this is what I was talking about People have an excuse for every opponet the guy faces. Mr. G I was saying Floyd Beat Castillo twice. Not Castillo beat Joel Twice. You tell me to lean the Facts I'm talking about Floyd not Chavez.
A: Sometimes we never truely appreciate what we have until its gone, and yes the Pretty Boy's retired now we get people making useless fights (Pacman vs DLH and The Ghost vs BHOP) to keep us entertained. I appreciate that Pretty Boy moved from a Feather to a jr Middleweight and not just by moving up for the sake of moving up, he also conquered championships. Now people can say what they want to say about him, he beat champions, whether too slow, washed up or useless, if you beat up a champ I think naturaly you become a champion, is that no so? Pretty Boy did what he had to do as a Featherweight, perhaps he didn't fight Barrera, Morales or Hamed but that doesn't diminish his value in my eyes. Sometimes we need to learn and accept that boxing is more than just a sport, its a business. Pretty Bboy did what I would have done, why fight fighters that would not gross you any income when you can make a big pay day fighting glossy fighters that people were happy to call champs and now all too happy to criticise cause Pretty boy laid into them? At Welter, Pretty Boy only wanted to make his pay day and leave on his terms. No matter what you may want to believe or say, Casamayor is no headliner, nor is Magarito, nor was a realy hyped up Cotto. now if I'm the best in the world, should I fight guys who think they are good but cannot bring anything to the table and still want to share the lions share of what I think I'm bringing to the table? Hell NO!!!! Pretty boy beat a tough Chavez, Castilllo, Corrales, Hatton, Judah, De La Hoya, the list goes on. Have any of the people Mayweather has been dodging fought anyone of that calibre? Come on guys, stop hating. The guy may not have the best of on TV charecters, but to me he did what he had to do in boxing and appreciate that. I met Phillip N'Dou a few months ago in Johannesburg and sked him one quetions, Phillip did you think you could beat Floyd? He said "I thought I had a chance, a real chance especially after the Castillo fights, but you can't beat what you can't hit. I ran myself out of gas because I kept on punching a ghost. No one can beat Floyd but only Floyd can beat himself if he loses focus. And by the way, the man can punch, his punches are like razor blades, you forget offense to try stopping his razor blades and then that's when he murders you" I had the opportunity of having a chat with someone who fought the Pretty one and not many of you will ever have that opportunity. To hear from a man who was in a ring with Pretty boy is almost like being in the ring with him and trust me, Ndou was no bum, a record of 32-1 and 31 KO's on his way to the ring vs Mayweather, and not everyone gets to fight Pretty boy.
