Camping on the Sunshine Coast?

Q: I am looking for a place that is secluded, near a beach or lake for fishing....prefer to stay away from caravan parks and facilities are not a necessity....just want somewhere for me and my mates to hae a good time by ourselves??

A: There's a great spot in the middle of the sunshine coast region called lake cootharaba. It has a camping ground with cravan sites, though these cost extra, and the basic tent/camp sites are really cheap. There are toilet blocks all around the grounds, and real roads etc, and a 5min walk out of the camp grounds will take you to the small local shop where you can pretty much find anything you'd need for a basic camping trip. The whole camp ground is based right next to the lake, which joins to the noosa river just a few miles upstream. There is pretty average fishing there, but if you make the treck upstream to noosa river, the fishing is much better. I've stayed there many times, and it was great, there are all sorts of activities to do, even on a budget. It's worth a look. =)
