What sport should I do?

Q: So I'm a freshman in high school...and REALLY out of shape. Like, extremely. Not fat, just out of shape. I did some warm-ups yesterday in gym (they were kind of brutal), but everyone seemed okay afterwards...I was exhausted and my stomach muscles still hurt right now. Anyway, I'm thinking about doing dance, gymnastics, track, soccer, cheerleading, or...ugh well something else. I'm pretty much open to anything except volleyball. I have a really weird medical condition that makes me out of breath easily..it's because my diaphragm is pushing on my lung..so I'm trying to improve that (apparently it'll get better with exercise, according to my doctor). So I did gymnastics in kindergarten or 1st grade, but it's probably too late to start that at my age. Then in 2nd grade I did soccer, but quit because the other kids were making fun of me..then I did it again in 6th grade and always got confused with the rules and stuff..plus I just sucked at it. I don't know if I want to give it another go, especially because it's probably just even harder now with people who have been doing it since they were 5. I did cheerleading in 5th grade and really liked it because I was good at it, but that was 4 years ago. Let's face it, I'm not flexible anymore and cheerleading for freshmen isn't the same as it is for 5th graders. What do you think I would enjoy? What sport do you play, and do you like it? What are some negative and positive aspects of the sport? I need some feedback..I'm in desperate need to figure this out. lol Thanks!!!

A: ok I'm a super jock and have played virtually every sport that there is. Cheerleading, soccer, basketball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, dance, track, and I tried cosscountry and my best advice to you is to either play tennis or to do dance. They both give you alot of exercise without requiring alot of endurance. I have asthma and my problem was running. If you're looking to get in shape then I would suggest joining a dance class. You could join your local dance team take some ballet classes, hip-hop, jazz, or even yoga. They get your heart pumping without requiring much running. I started dance when I was 10 and after about a month I was 15 pounds lighter and I could run faster and farther in gym class. I hope my suggestions have been helpful Good Luck
