Q: Well some people might think this question is stupid. Ana Ivanovic is only 20 years old but she's playing like a fatigued Venus Williams! Slow inconsistent and crappy! Not to be rude but even her all around appearance has been damaged! Nadia Petrova looked prettier than her in that game. Does she have it in her to break through of her slump? And what about Kuzy. She's looking like a fatigued Amelie Mauresmo (first round...really) Though she is doing well in Tokyo (quarters babay!) She has been horrible in the last two slams. Her ranking has fallen down to 7. Even though she just one the Fed Cup for Russia her game is looking real sloppy. And she NEVER does good at the Aussie Open (maybe she'll do well in Roland Garros. She as well is still young (23) What do you think?
A: Ivanovic is going through a slump. But a slump that can also be blamed on an outstanding thumb injury. She's still horribly inconsistent though, and needs to correct that if she's to win. But one thing going for her is head to head. She got a better record than most of her fellow top 20 players in H2H and that says to me that she's good enough to beat them. So, I think Ivanovic still has a few more slams to go, especially because she's only 20! Kuznetsova on the other hand, has poor head to heads, and just doesn't look like she's going to be able to pull off a win against a really good player. She's consistently good in taking down the top 50 players, but when it's crunch time, she just doesn't deliver. She gets to Quarters and Semis often, but can't make the last few steps. She could still win another slam, but I think she has less potential than Ivanovic, and must get lucky to be able to win (Williams sisters injured, easy draw etc...)
