anything to cheer me up?

Q: so i've been in a bad mood lately and its cuz i have so much stuff to worry about. like its all about "wat people think of me" stuff. and i dunno how to cheer myself up and all the stuff that my friends have been trying to do to make me laugh arent working. how do you cheer yourself up when you're down? and no answers saying to stop caring about wat other people think cuz its kinda hard to do. help!? please and thank you(:

A: I was the exact same, somewhere between 8th and 10th grade. I finally realized that the ones who matter(your friends) won't care what you do, and the ones who care (the people who judge), shouldn't matter to you. Just know that unless they are signing your paycheck, or issuing your grades, then they're not that important. All you need in life is your family and a career, the rest will fall into place. I broke my leg before school started back one year and only 2 people came to see me. only 1 other person called me ( i was out of school for a month or so, it was a bad break). I felt miserable, lonely, like i had no friends. Then i realized, once I graduate, we're all going our own ways anyways...and that's exactly what happened. I rarely see anyone i knew in high school. (I'm 20 now, been out since 05) As for literally feeling better inside...i always like to dress up, do my hair and make-up really well. It gives you a confidence boost. Get your nails done, or go get your hair dyed. Get a massage, get a pedicure, or do something you really really like. I like to work out and swim, and hike a few trails. It got me through high school when i felt like people were judging me. Just know this is your life to plan and do what you want with, and don't let anyone get in the way of doing just that. p.s. i see your screen name is music lover... music always cheers me up. Especially ones that were older but good...some that may have came out 5 years ago that were really popular..they make me smile thinking of old memories. Just turn some music on, shut your bedroom door, and shake/dance your blues away.
