Oakland Athletes and Atlanta Braves Coaches -;respectively, Bob Melvin and Brian Snicker, received the `Manager of the Year` prize in MLB in 2018. For the mentor of `A` this is the third such award after 2007 (with Arizona Diamondbacks) and 2012, while his colleague at the head of`the brave` won the poll for the first time. The BBWAA has 30 reporters for each of the two leagues;American and National. In their vote they designate three names that accumulate points on the 5-3-1 system.
In the AL, 57-year-old Melvin collected a total of 121 points after being named 18 times in the first place, 10 times in the second, and once in the third. His runners became the mentor of champion Boston Red Sox Alex Cora (79 points) and Tampa Bay Rays Kevin Cash (57 points). The poll ends at the end of the regular season and does not reflect playoff play.
In 2018 Auckland started the league by soccer livescore with the lowest payroll budget and finished second in the Western Division with the fourth best balance in the entire Premier League. The team`s participation in the playoffs was first after 2014, but again in the `Wild Card` the elimination -against the New York Yankees.
In NL, Snooker gained 116 points from 17 first places, 9 second and 4 thirds. Top 3 added Craig Cunssel (Milwaukee Brews) with 99 points and Bud Black (Colorado Rockies) with 41 points. The 63-year-old veteran is Atlanta`s first manager, elected No. 1 in the year following the 2005 Bobbi Cox legend. Last season, Snicker refuted all predictions that his young team would hardly compete with their divisional rivals, and brought the Braves to the East. In their first play in the playoffs after a 5-year break, the `daredevillers` dropped into the round I against the future Los Angeles Dodgers World Series finalist.
